Frame Resizing

It may be the perfect frame, but it is the wrong size. By making strategic cuts, sometimes in the corners, or sometimes along the rails, based upon the best possible structural or cosmetic results we can often enlarge or reduce the size of the frame. This is always performed with utmost respect the original process and finish of the frame.

Reduce Frame Size

The frame was cut and rejoined near the carving. Seams were filled and the frame then gilded and polychromed to blend.

Increase Frame Size

The frame was cut, new wood was inserted and hand carved to continue and match the pattern. The new parts are gilded and the finish blended both on the front and back to seamlessly flow to the original.
