Influenced by Italian frames, similar Spanish frames tend to have bolder carving and more dramatic moulding shapes. Carving tends to be flamboyant, in high relief and more stylized with increased use of the reverse profile. Elaborate designs can be found on the corners and centers of many Spanish frames, accented by painted panels.
