Custom Frame Design

Our services include the ability to reproduce antique frames and custom designs.  Whether the idea is from actual frames, drawings, or photographs, we have the capability to realize your vision, or help design the appropriate frame for the circumstance.

The frame you made with the copied profile is AWESOME!!! How do you do it?

Paxton Project

A leading museum had an original circa 1912 Foster Brothers frame on F.W. Benson’s “My Daughter.” Hanging in the same gallery, they wanted a matching frame for W.M. Paxton’s “The Housemaid.” Only able to have the original for one week, we quickly made a sample of the intricate carving and corner construction, and then proceeded with the frame.

Round Frame

This is an adaptation of our model IT-3HFC made in a circle for a round textile.

Over Mantle Mirror

Two shaped frames were designed and made with hand carved leaf and berry to fit into architectural niches over a pair of fireplaces.

Stanford White Reproduction

A museum client saw this photograph of a Stanford White picture frame in a book and wanted a reproduction for a Childe Hassam painting. We tracked down the original, took measurements, photos and then recreated the frame.

Louis XIII Reproduction

This antique provincial Louis XIII frame was in extremely poor shape, so a copy was hand carved to match. The client was able to keep the original for its provenance.

Feet on Frames

Matching “feet” were requested for the design of the Louis XVI frame so it would appear to sit on the mantle. We chose the design and ornaments to harmonize with the architectural details of the room, while a two-way mirror hides the television.
